My journey with Trainer Tina:
May 2017 I was gifted with the opportunity to work with Trainer Tina. At first I was skeptical. Can a girl be a personal trainer? Then I began to wonder if this process was even going to work. I thought this will most likely be a waste of my time. But something was urging me on to go. So I went to my first class and was surprised. It was a nice experience. I decided I would go to her class and really try and push myself more than I usually do. However, I don’t see results fast enough. By the end of the week, I was broken down. Hurting in places I didn’t know I could even access. Trainer Tina knows her stuff that’s for sure. Everything she talked about in class, I went and researched it, if I had not already heard about it before.

Let me tell you what was a real life changer for me. I have had Personal Trainers before. At least 3-4 of them, I paid good money to utilize their services. I got some results with them but nothing like what I’ve seen working with Trainer Tina. Not only did she give me a meal plan, but she MADE sure I followed it. I had to take pictures of my food and she would make changes to what I was eating as needed. Not only that, unlike other trainers, she actually held me accountable for completing my outside cardio and attending her class at least 4 times a week. Another game changer was the fact that she weighed me often and did my measurements. If after a certain amount of weeks nothing is happening, Trainer Tina does a check in and altered my plan. When I realized she was in it for me to win it, I was genuinely amazed and happy. That thought process motivated me to actually stay on the plan she gave me and make the lifestyle changes that she advised.
I started with Trainer Tina weighing in at 203lbs. My goal at that time was to get to the 180’s and then I felt like I could do the rest on my own. Don’t get me wrong, I struggled and I slipped, but whenever she saw that happen she helped me pick myself up and keep going. Then we changed my meal plan again to only seafood and I dropped 10lbs. Then further changes, no seafood and I dropped again. These transactions were not easy, but I really started to feel so much better than before. Not only was I losing pounds, but most noticeably I was losing inches.
Just for reference, here’s some background on my crazy life, #NOEXCUSES. To start, I lost my mother to congestive heart failure which broke my heart and still does, I also took 8 medications for my high blood pressure just to keep it down. I have a job working around 60-70 hours a week. I went from being 10 months away from being an empty nester to having 2 grandkids, ages 6 & 10, living with me full time. I had one child graduating from college and still had the regular duties of being a wife and mother. So when it comes to my personal fitness, it felt like there was zero time for me.
When I kept making my weight goals I continued to move my goal date further and further. Today, September 1, 2018, I am 12lbs away from being 165lbs. I plan on getting there or even smaller by October before my next annual physical. I also plan on getting off my final 4 high blood pressure medications at this next doctor’s visit. The money that would have gone towards the 4 medications that I’ve already been taken off of, currently pay for my class time now.
This journey was not easier, it was definitely not always fun. A lot of the time, I didn’t want to go workout because I was exhausted with tons of work piling up and other things I needed to take care of. What kept me going was the fact that my Trainer Tina would not let me hide under a rock. Not only that, but when I did what she told me to do I saw results.
I post a lot on my personal Facebook and Instagram pages of my journey with pictures of me on my scale and in smaller clothes.

I went from dress size 16 to 6-8
In workout clothes from an X-Large to a size small
Shoe size from a 9 1/2 to an 8 1/2
I’ve now got curves, tighter legs, and thighs.
I plan on making my 50 year old body the hottest I’ve been.
It was worth every cent and every second. I am actually scared to leave her because she has been such a change in my mental, physical and social well-being. With Trainer Tina I’ve changed my life for the better. Stop saying you can do it on your own because if you could you would have done it already. You would not be where you are right now.
Trainer Tina makes it happen!

"When I first met Tina in Aug 2007, I have to say I was nothing less than intimidated. She was beautiful, confident, and strong — everything I was wishing I could be. When I started out, my goal was to be a perfect size 10 and have the ability to go in any store and find the sale rack with something that could fit me. Working with Tina, I quickly realized that I had only set mediocre weight-loss goals and that, for the first time in my life, I could actually be a one digit jean size. I changed my goal to an 8 which quickly fell to a six and Thanksgiving had not even hit. It's easy to get addicted to her. I found something I had never felt in my 33 years — sexy.
I know this much is true.....nothing tastes better than thin feels. I'm on the journey back now because I realized that I'd done this for myself and no one else."

"In early 2010, while watching an episode of the Biggest Loser with my then 5 year old son, I hit rock bottom. My little boy looked up at me and said, "Mommy, you look like those ladies and I don't want you to die." It was then that I realized what my weight gain and subsequent depression was doing to my family - and to me. I was 35 years old, 280 pounds and completely miserable. I had noticed a friend mentioning her trainer on Facebook, so I mentioned it in passing to my sweet husband. Next thing I knew, I had a meeting with Trainer Tina. Little did I know that day that I had just met the woman who would change my life. Tina would become not only my trainer, but my coach, cheerleader, nutritionist, accountability partner, dear friend, sister, spiritual mentor and prayer warrior. It's hard to find words to describe my experience with Tina other than to say it has been completely transformative! Tina has a way of pushing your body way past what you think it can do, showing you just what you are capable of - all the while lifting up your spirit and strengthening your mind. Believe it or not, Tina's gym is actually a fun place! I am always blessed by my one-on-one time with her, but I also love the camaraderie of working out with other women walking the same journey as me. Tina's gym is also a safe place. I often say it's like church for me...I always leave feeling renewed and purposed! I owe my LIFE to Tina in so many ways. Today, I am healthy, fit and strong - physically, mentally and spiritually - a far cry from the woman I used to be. Would I recommend Tina as a trainer? Absolutely, positively, 110% YES - and I have, many times! Tina is a true gift from heaven and I wish that every woman in my life could spend time with her. I can't imagine that there is anyone better to help you reach your goals. She has helped me reach mine - and encouraged me to set new ones. I am looking very forward to reaching with her by my side!"

"Since Simon Cowell first made rude comments about my weight on the fifth season of American Idol, I have waged a very public battle with my weight. I hired Tina in August 2008 and in eight months I lost 80 pounds. Tina not only trains my mind, she has been an integral part of my journey to freedom. That has included dealing with the physical components of weight loss, but also the emotional and spiritual aspects as well. I took Tina with me to an American Idol taping a few months ago. The look on Simon's face when he saw a healthier me was priceless. I owe so much of the beauty of that moment to Tina!"

Every workout is different. I've been working out with Trainer Tina for about a year, lost 30 lbs, and I'm keeping it off. My new goal is to lose another 30 lbs and I have no doubt I'll accomplish that goal as well. Coach T is no doubt the best trainer. Thanks Coach.
